Foundings
- First English settlement in 1670 by William Sayle
- Built a town which has since wholly dissapeared
- 1671 Sir John Yeamans brings around 200 slaves into SC
- Quickens progression of colony
- 10 years after first settlers arrived, Charleston, SC founded between Ashley and Cooper rivers.
- Named after Charles I of England
